The idea and the reasons
The massacre of Bologna is one of the most tragic events happened during the so called italian "Anni di piombo" (Years of Lead), which is the period that goes from the
'60s to the '80s. On August 2, 1980, at 10.25 a.m., a bomb exploded in the second-class room of the Bologna railway station. The explosion hit the train standing at platform one and the tunnel under the track broughting down the southwest wing of the station. This tragic event caused 85 deaths and more than 200 injuries. The main responsible were two members of the N.A.R (Nuclei Armati Rivoluzionari), Valerio Fioravanti and Francesca Mambro.
We have chosen to describe this event because it is one of the most serious terrorist act happened in Italy, so it is a relevant event to the contemporary history.

The cultural objects describing the event
We decided to represent our idea by showing several heterogeneous items, which come from different cultural institutions and they belong to different typology objects. In order to choose the most suitable objects we considered some items related to the people involved or those more representative for the bologna railway station. In addition we have included some items which have to do with the date and others related to the “black terrorisms”, that is our main concept.
